St John Ambulance NT selects HealthCare Software's Controlled Drugs Management solution
St John Ambulance NT has signed a multi-year contract with HealthCare Software (HCS) to implement and use their award-winning Controlled Drugs Management (CDM) solution across the Northern Territory.
In the Northern Territory, Controlled Drugs must be managed in compliance with the Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act (2012), which has requirements for appropriate record-keeping of all movements, transactions and administration of controlled substances. These regulations are challenging to adhere to accurately using legacy paper registers.
CDM provides a digital solution to replace paper CD registers giving Clinicians confidence that they are meeting their legislative obligations, Managers an instant view of all CD-related transactions in their area of responsibility and Supply and Pharmacy transparency over the use of CDs across the service.
Andrew Thomas, Director of Ambulance Services St John Ambulance NT, said “HCS’ CDM solution will transform our management of Controlled Drugs from legacy paper registers to a contemporary digital solution. We are excited to be working with HCS and look forward to realising the benefits of this fantastic solution.”
Richard Metcalfe, CEO of HealthCare Software, said “I’m delighted to welcome St John Ambulance NT as another customer of our CDM solution. It’s been great to work with Andrew and his team and we’re looking forward to implementing the solution which will bring us to 50% of the emergency ambulance services in Australia”.
